PERSONAL ITEMS.
Mr A. Morton was on Saturday reelected chairman of the-Inglewood Coop. Bacon Company for the twentyfifth year in succession. Mr Morton lias occupied that position since, the company’s inception. Majors Bladen and Macauley visited Eltham on Sunday, and conducted special meetings for young people of the Salvation Army. Representatives were present from all the Taranaki corps. The funeral of the late Airs H. Rowe took place on Sunday afternoon, and. was largely attended, the deceased being very well known. She was a daughter of Mrs W.' Phillips, late of Mangatoki, and now residing in Eltham. Prior to the commencement of business at the ahnual meeting of the Inglewood Bacon Company on Saturday the chairman referred to the loss the company had sustained during the year by the death of Air A. Chard, who had been connected with'the company since its inception, and had been a director from its formation till the time t* his death. It was resolved to place on record the appreciation of shareholders of the splendid service Air Chard had rendered* and a vote of condolence was passed, shareholders standing in silence.—News., Mr A. H. Hodge, until recently chief engineer and works manager at Westfield for the Westfield Freezing Company, Ltd., has been appointed manager to the West Coast Refrigerating Company at Patea, in succession to Air F. W. Grainger, who was recently appointed by the New Zealand Dairy Produce Control Board as in.spector and supervisor of shipping. Mi Hodge was formerly chief engineer and works manager for Messrs Nelson Bros., at Gisborne and Hawke’s Bay.
