STOLEN MOTOR CAR.
j YOUTH HURT IN COLLISION. A big six-cylinder motor-car., the property or Ca-pt. F'raunfcider, stolen during the previous evening., was found smashed up on Anzac Canute, Kensington, teydney, on the mo.rnmg cl September 21. the car at the time of the accident- contained four youths, and one of these was found among the wreckage bleeding from injuries co the head, arm and ten, and lying m a dazed condition. His companions, who are believed to have also been injured in tlie accident, left the scene of the accident directly after it occurred. » The ear crashed into a. telegraph post, where a number of previous accidents have happened. The vehicle was driven .at a furious speed, and the noise of _ the collision was -heard some distance away. A wireless message summoned ‘the police patrol to the spot, but no sign could be found of the other occupants £.f tiR car The injured youth was taken to the hospital. Salutary sentences are being imposed in an effort to lessen the' frequency with which motor cars are be-, mg taken during the owners’ temporary absence. Two youths who appeared to answer no fewer than 17 charges of naving illegally used motor cars received heavy sentences. Fines of £2O, in default four months' imprisonment, were imposed in each instance.
