A MAORI’S LAPSE.
THEFT FROM A BUTCHER. (by TELEGRAPH—PRESS ASSOCIATION. DARGAVILLE, Oct. 10. A Maori boy of 17, named Zulu Edmonds, alias Hum Edmonds, Avas before the court to-day, charged Avith stealing £59 from his employer, don HayAvood, a butcher of Waiotia. The police suggested that as accused had previously been in trouble he should be sent to an industrial school. He' Avas convicted and sentenced to two mouths’ hard labour.
