COUNTY COUNCIL’S BALANCESHEET. (BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION. WELLINGTON, Oct. 10. The Audit Office has tagged the bal-ance-sheet of the Makara County Council, objecting to the payment of travelling alloAvance to councillors at the rate of £1 Is jjer meeting in lieu of travelling expenses. The council has been asked to adjust the matter within 14 days in order to aA'oid tlie necessity for other proceedings. The council has decided to fight the case, which is described as the first of its kind in the Dominion.
