HAWERA’S NEW HOSPITAL.
PLANS APPROVED. TENDERS TO BE CALLED. “Within a period of two years Hawera will possess one of the most up-to-date and best-equipped hospitals in the Dominion,” said Mr F. Gilianders, chairman of the Hawera Hospital Board in an interview with a Star reporter to-day on his return from Wellington, where he has been attending the Hospital Boards’ conference. The new hospital plans submitted bv the Board have been approved by the'technical advisers to the - Department of Health, Messrs Johnston and Allen, with minor alterations relative to sanitary fittings, etc. The fact that the plans as drawn up by the architect and passed by the Board have been approved is to be regarded as extremely complimentary to the Board and its officers. Tenders for the erection of the building will be called immediately.
