“A HUMAN DRONE.”
TWO DAYS’ WORK IN SIX AIONTHS. Described as a “human drone,” a young man named Eustice Thorpe Raphael .appeared before Air E. Page, S.AI., in the Wellington Magistrate’s Court last week for sentence in connection with the theft of a pair of wireless telephones valued at £2 10s According to Chief Detective Kemp, moused, since his arrival at Auckland Imm Scotland in Alay last, had done only two days’ work, and had made the boast that he “was not looking lor work and did not want work.” He seems to he nothing more than a human drone,” commented the chief detective. Air R. R. Scott, who appeared for accused, asked that leniency be extended. since the occasion was the first on which the man had appeared before the court. • While prepared to disregard certain jr^ a t lons ire^Gl rG 3 1° in the probation ofneer s report, his Worship remarked i e rema inder of the report showto that accused’s conduct was not very satisfactory. “He seems to.be an idler,” added the Magistrate, “and requires a lesson. Two months’ imprisonment.”
