TE KIRI.

(From Our Own Correspondent.) The Taungatara tug-of-war team were successful in winning the Taranaki championship at Manaia recently. The team consists of B. Coupe, R. Maindonald, F. Maindonald, J. Allen, and H. Gilshnan (anchor). Mr G. Bruce is captain of the team, and quite a number went from Te Kiri to see the pull. At a public meeting Messrs Rodger (chairman), Templeton, and Coxhead were elected to the Domain Board in place of Messrs Woolford (chairman), F. Watson, and Stockwell, who have left the district. A working bee was held at the Domain on Saturday last, a number of the public turning up to help, and a lot of useful work *was done.
