LICENSING LEGISLATION. RAILWAYMEN’S WAGES. TO BE DISCUSSED TO-NIGHT. (By Telegraph—Special to Star.) WELLINGTON, Oct 6. A Select Committee of • the House of Representatives which has . been considering licensing legislation has completed its deliberations, and is. expected to report on Tuesday. . The Government will treat the question as entirely non-party, and whatever the committee recommends will be referred to the law drafting department to prepare a Bill for consideration this session. Another important and equally controversial measure, the Electoral Bill, is likely to make its appearance this week. Its contents are not being divulged, but the Premier has declared that, in its present shape, he is quite content to see ifc passed. J :.1 Monday night’s sitting is to be devoted to a discussion-of the Railway. Board’s reports on wages : .and. conditxons. This will revive the very familiar issue of taxation reductions on the one hand and’ reduction of public servants’ wages on the other hand. Most Parliamentarians anticipate that there will be a’ long debate, with an inconclusive result; '
