FIRST ROYAL SHOW.
The first entries from the South Island for the First Royal Show' are to hand. They consist of Corriedale and English Leicester sheep and fleece wool. Large entries of sheep, cattle and horses are expected to follow' these in the course of the next few days from noted breeders in the South ‘ Island. Many enquiries from the north as to arrangements for the transit of show' stock are reaching the joint secretaries in Palmerston North.. This denotes very keen interest in all quarters, hence large entries are anticipated. Entries for dogs are beginning to move in also, as w'ell as general sections such as cookery, needlework, photography, etc. These latter sections close on Saturday, 4th, and those interested should now be putting their entries in. All other live stock and. competition entries close on Saturday, 11th inst. •
