The list of Ministerial travelling expenses for the year 1923-24, tabled in the Assembly, shows that the total travelling expenses of all Ministers, excluding the cost of the trips of Messrs Theodore and Jones to England, was £5159. Goodsell lodged a deposit for the race yesterday, but it appears that MeDevitt posted a deposit to Paddon on September 29 and therefore he claims the first, race with Paddon or his forfeit, as under the rules the latter, cannot, retire.
