REFORM PARTY.

ELECTION OF OFFICERS FOR HAWERA. The organiser of the Reform Party expressed himself as very pleased with the meeting of the Hawera branch on Wednesday evening. The meeting elected officers as follows : President, Mr. J. B. Murdoch; vice-presidents, Messrs S. Blake and. A. Hunter; committee, Messrs S. Adamson, W. G. Walkley, M. F. Purser, C. R. Stannard, J. Winks, C. STonics. H. Foyster, W. Robertson, W. A. Spragg, T. C. Hobbs, and Dr. Thomson. A meeting of the executive, consisting of the presidents and vice-presi-dents of the various branches, will be held at Waverlev on Friday next to form an electoral executive. This meeting will fix the date and place of a conference of delegates to select the Reform candidate. Meetings will be held in various parts of the electorate to appoint delegates to the conference. At the meeting on Wednesday night a vote of condolence with the relatives of the late Mr. W. Adamson, was passed, and also a vote of thanks to the retiring officers. In conversation with a Star representative yesterday afternoon Mr. EDixon stated, in reply to a question as to who would be the Reform candidate, that “it is in the lap of the gods.” If the conference to be held selected him he would be willing to stand, but there the matter rested at present.
