For _ good wools there Avas steady competition at previous rates, but faulty scats sold irregularly, with frequent withdrawals. STOCK MARKET. Messrs NeAvton King, Ltd., report as folloAvs:— At IngleAvocd yesterday both store and dairy cattle came forward in full numbers, and Ave report a very firm sale throughout. All classes of store cattle maintained the recent improvement, and a. pen of particu—ivy good fat cows realised'£lo os. A marked increase in prices was also noticeable in the dairy peus compared with recent sales in this district. Quc.tat ions: Yearling Jersey heifers, £4 os and £3 19s 6d; small do., £2 IQs to £3 os; crossbred yearling heifers, 35s to £2 os; small do., £1 to £1 10s; 2year empty Jersey heifers, £4 os; Jersey cress d0.,.£2 12s 6d; mixed shorthorn aud Holstein dp., £1 17s 6d to £2 os; yearling steers, £2 3s young store cows, £2 os to £3; smalt and poor conditioned coavs, 30s to £2; forward conditioned cows, £3 to £4: heavy fat coavs, £l 0 os; light do., £5 4s 6d; grade Jersey bulls to £7; 2-year Jer./ry springing heifers, £8 10s to £10; smaller do., £6 to £8; Jersey cross heifers (best), £7 to £9; small do., £4 10s to £6; heifers calved up to £8 10s; springing coavs to £lO. Meneantile Agency Company, Ltd., have received the folloAving cablegram from their London house under date 27th instant: Wool Sales —Since sales opened market has advanced. Merino now 10 per cent to 15 per cent, crossbred 15 ner cent to 20 per cent above July. MELBOURNE, Oct. 2.‘ At the wool sales to-day prices Avere on a par with the previous day.
