MAGISTRATE’S COURT
At yesterday’s sifting of the Magistrate’s Court, Eltham, Mr A. M. Mowlem, S.M., presiding, the following cases were dealt with:—
Judgment summonses.—G. W. Peebles v. A. 11. George, £3 14s lid. Defendant ordered to pay amount forthwith; in default four days’ imprisonment, warrant to be suspended for 14 days. C. N. Taplin v. R. McMillin, £4 18s. Defendant ordered to pay forthwith; iu default five days’ imprisonment, warrant suspended for seven days. K. Williams, Kaponga, was ordered to pay £33 18s to W. T. Jones; in default 28 days’ imprisonment, the warrant to be suspended provided defendant paid off the amount at the rate of £6 per month. Judgment by default with costs was given for plaintiffs in the following civil cases: Taranaki Electric Power Board v. Eobt. Buckley, 5/- costs; same v. Henry Ileffard, £1 5s Sd; same v. Vincent Paul Miller, 7/- costs; same v. Manawanui Graliam, £2 7s 3d; same v. Oswald J. Jans and John Jans, £1 19s lid; Egmont Box Co. v. Williams, £1 Is 9d.
For failure to attend drill. E. J. Cur-' tis, H. E. Gqldstone. A. K. Hemingway, A. J. Mancer, W. H. Morgan, G. L. Nees and J. F. Yates were eaeli fined 10s and costs; F. E. Foster and Cecil Yates (previously convicted), 20s and costs each; J. E. Lehrke, for failure to notify change of address, 10s and costs.
