Railway Line. ■ on -lie Kaiapoi and Rangiora section of the northern railway was stopoed yesterday on account of portion' of‘the formation and ballast having been washed away on the previous, night- bv the overflow v;ater from the Rangioiui main drain, hurst its banks on Wednesday about five chains above the new dram bridge. It is stated that six hours’ work will be sufficient to enable the resumption of traffic. Loss of Schooner.—A letter recfeivo.J. from Webster Bros., Taranaki, s'ates that there is very little doubt that the vessel reported as foundering off Cape Egmont was the Garibaldi, which left Lyttelton, loaded .with Tail way jrbfr; for the Waitara. River. Natives saw her ship a very heavy sea, ride over the next and then disappear head first. They are finding a lot of wreckage.
