Received Sent. 25, 9.5 a.m SYDNEY, Sept. 25. A communication, has been received by the secretary of the Commonwealth Football Association from the secretary of the Football Association, Limited; stating that the estimated cost of the English soccer team’s forthcoming tour of Australia and New Zealand is £IO,OOO. Negotiations are in progress to extend the tour to Canada, thereby widening the field for recouping the outlay.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn
NELSON DEFEATS CHINESE TEAM
(BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION ' z. NELSON, Sept. 24. The “soccer” match between Nelson and the Chinese team wa,s played today in showery weather before about 2000 spectators, and it resulted in a Avin for Nelson by 4 goals to 3. The game was fast and open, the Chinese excelling in head and footwork.
