MASTERTON, Sept. 24. •Henry Francis Robertson, a voung returned soldier farming at Pigeon Bush, was found guilty at the Supreme Court to-day on four counts of violating the Chattels Transfer Act by disposing of stock mortgaged to the Crown, thereby reducing ihe security without the authority of the mortgagee. 1

The jury asked if they could return a verdict ,of guilty without intention to defraud, but on a negative reply being given by the judge they found accused guilty, with a very strong recommendation to mercy. He. was remanded for sentence.
