WATERSIDERS.

APPLICATION FOR DOMINION AWARD.

WHERE THE COURT SHOULD AID

(BY TELFOB. a tut — press ASSOCIATION ) WELLINGTON, Sept. 25. ihe decision to hold an Arbitration Court sitting in Dunedin next month to adjudicate on the Dominion watersiders’ dispute met with a protest from the Harbour Board chairman, who said that shipping interests were opposed to the proposal. Wellington was the proper place to hear the case, otherwis» -they would have to go to the trouble and expense of sending officers all the way to Dunedin to attend the sitting. The dispute did not concern conditions of work, but only wages, which could be decided here without difficulty. It has been decided to forward the protest to the proper quarter.
