OPUNAKE CLUB
Ihe re was a large attendance of members at the annual meeting of the Opunake Tennis Club.on Friday evening, Mr C. 0. Edmonds, presiding. in moving the adoption of the bal-ance-sheet. which showed a credit balance of £4 4s 9d. the president congratulated members on the success attained last season. Their membership had grown considerably, and, thanks to the committee who arranged the concert, funds had been available to effect many urgent works. The club had been very successful in competitions, and were successful in winning the, majority of the matches played during* the season. The following were elected officers for the ensuing year:—Mr. F. Julian, president: Mrs F. Hammond and Messrs C. D. Edmonds and T.'Hughson, vice-presidents ; Mrs F. Hammond, secretary: Miss Trotter, treasurer; club captain, Mr C. H. Edmonds; committee to consist of all members with a quorum of five. It was decided to have the official opening on Labour Hay, a y'ankee tournament to lie run in the afternoon and a dance in the evening. Resolved that the subscriptions he the same as last year, and that school children be allowed to play on courts when not otherwise required for a sub. r_2s 6d per annum. It was unanimously agreed to appoint secretary and treasurer as honorary members. A number of new-members were duly elected.
