IRISH BOUNDARY BILL

THE RUSSIAN TREATY. BY CABLE-—PRESS ASSOCIATION —COPYRIGHT LONDON, Sept. 23. The Parliamentary correspondent of the Daily Telegraph says Uabinet will discuss the business for the House of Commons when it meets on September 30. According to present plans the only legislation will be the Irish Boundary Commission Bill, which Mr .J. R. Clynes will forthwith move. The action of the Unionists will be decided towards the end of the week, but the probability is that there will be no motion for rejection by the House of Commons, and it is doubtful whether any attempt, can be made to amend the Bill, which the Government does not believe will occasion any political crisis. Mr Winston Churchill has been officially adopted as the prospective Conservative candidate for the Epping Division of Essex.

Mr H. 11. Asquith’s letter has dashed the hopes of Government circles that the Liberals will tacitly sipport the existing text of the ‘Anglo-Russian agreement. While seeking to amend unacceptable provisions the Liberals hope the Government will revise or elaborate its plan for a Russian settlement before the issue reaches a crucial sstage in the House of Commons. It is suggested the Government should resume Anglo-Soviet negotiations as a solution of the impasse.
