ELTHAM.
MEETING OF DRAINAGE BOARD. The Eltham Drainage Board met on Saturday, when the following were present: Messrs W. C. Clement (chairman), John Campbell, J. Cocker, H. H. Wood and F. Silver. The Board issued instructions that steps be taken to recover drain clear ing charges incurred by the Board. It was further resolved that fresh notices be issued against drain cleaning defaulters. Regarding loan proposals, a classification list for Ward No. 4 loan was submitted tb the Board and approved. The chairman was authorised to proceed to Wellington to interview the authorities concerning the Drainage Act Amendment Bill, or to make other arrangements in the event of his inability to make the trip. It was decided that a fresh general classification of the whole district be made by the Board for the purpose of drain cleaning, and, further, that a special meeting, of the Board should be held on October 4 to deal with the classification. A committee consisting of the chairman, Messrs Silver and Wood was appointed to inspect the Te Ngaere outlet aiid to make a report to the next meeting of the Board.—Argus.
