OPERA HOUSE—TO-NIGHT. • “THE BROKEN 'WING.” “The Broken Wing,” a Master Picture,. was enthusiastically received at its initial screening at the Opera House last evening. An aeroplane flight serves as the keynote of the plot which takes an American aviator into Mexico. The subsequent crash wdien the wing breaks and the pilot falls furnishes a thrilling moment that few films have ever equalled. Our hero falls into the main room of a Mexican ranch house —a direct answer to a pretty little Latin maid’s prayer for a white husband. Suffering no ill-effects from the accident beyond the total lois of his memory, ; the young Ame /van beats the local bandit by marrying her, only to return and find his wife, whose existence he had forgotten, waiting to take him home. A clever twist, of-the story, as original as it is unexpected, brings about a satisfactory ending. The play had a v(/y successful run on Broadway, and this picture lias been faithfully adapted from the play. The cast is excellent, and includes Kenneth Harlan, Miriam Copper, Miss Du Pont and Walter Long. “High Power” is a particularly humorous Mermaid comedy with original laughter-making stunts. The programme is particularly well balanced, and a good night’s entertainment is assured. EMPRESS PICTURES, MANAIA. Patrons of the Empress Pictures, Manaia, will find special interest in the latest Paramount feature “Wild Bill Hickok, ” in which S. Hart takes the principal part. In' addition the final episode of “Phantom Fortune” will be presented. Normanbv picture-goers will have the pleasure of seeing “Wild Bill Hickok” to-morrow evening.
