ALARMIST REPORTS. (BY TELEGRAPH—PRESS ASSOCIATION. ) WELLINGTON, Sept. 23. An alarmist statement has been circulated about the prevalence of pneumonic influenza in Sydney, and the absence of precaution's in' inspecting passengers arriying in New Zealand. The health authorities state that there is an understanding between the New Zealand and Australian authorities to immediately notify anything approaching an epidemic, and no such information has been received from Australia, and, apparently, they are disposed to regard the statement as exaggerated.
