REDS IN GEORGIA

MANY EXECUTIONS. PEOPLE RETREAf TO THE HILLS. BY CABLE —PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT LONDON, Sept. 20. The Paris correspondent of the Morn_ ing Post says that according to reports from Tiflis the Reds entered the Georgian capital on September 18, after desperate fighting, and they immediately executed six hundred of the leading citizens, imprisoning others. The Reds are now commanded by General Budieny, a noted cavalry leader, who is bringing aeroplanes, troops, armoured cars, and a dozen armoured trains to Batum. The Georgi. ans are retreating to the hills, where long guerilla warfare is probable. Some are entering Azerbaijan, where Mohammedan Tartars are successfully revolting. It is reported that there are large fires on the Baku oilfields, due to deliberate dynamiting by workmen discontented with the low wages paid by the Reds, who are now attempting to exploit the oil wells as Government property.
