INTERALLIED CONFERENCE

LONDON, Sept. 15. -Laghty ex-service men, representing nine Allied countries, delegates to the h idac Federation inter-Allies des Aucmns Combattants Congress, which is being held in ]Andon for the first time, placed a floral crown at the base of the cenotaph while a large crowd stood bareheaded for two minutes. Subsequently the congress sent a message of homage to the King, expressing sincere appreciation of His Majesty’s devotion to the cause of peace. Mr. Lister, chairman of the British read messages from Canada, South Africa, Rhodesia,. India, Burma and" Malaya wishing success to the conference.
M. Bertrand, the president, delivered a speech in French, stressing that their task was to protect the victims pf the war and promote peace.
