LONDON’S WINTER. FASHION “NUDE” STOCKINGS ‘ LONDON, September 2. The London fashion fair indicates that winter fashions will he notable for their gorgeous colourings. Furs, feathers, flowers, fringes, and every variety of bead and other ornamentation have all been, used to produce an effect rivalling the appearance of the peacock, or the most decorative beauty of a harem. Figured velvets of the richest, hues are the craze for evening frocks, one of which was covered with a million heads. Two of the newest stockings are called “sunburn” and “nude,” the former being slightly more pink than fleshcolour, and the latter being exactly the same as the skin in hue. Skirts will be shorter, both for day and evening wear.
