SOUTH AFRICAN COUSINS. DURBAN, Sept. 3. The Australian and JNew Zealand members of Parliament visiting South Aiirica have left the other delegations and gone on a three clays’ tour of Zululand. Senator Givens referred to the South Africans as the next-door neighbours of tlie Australians. He paid a tribute to in© Australasian ana South African pioneers, and hoped that under the •Southern Cross dominions would be built up -which, would be worthy of them.
Sir John Luke, M.P., for many years Mayor of Wellington, N.Z., urged that provision should be made against the time when gold mines would be unproductive.
“God knows, and we know, that you have problems to solve,” he said. He paid a tribute to the courage of the South Africans, and concluded by remarking that he. was a happier fellow than an artist in a morning paper had made him appear.
