ENTERTAINMENTS.

GRAND THEATRE—TO-NIGHT

“GENTLE JULIA.”

Booth Tarkington, inimitable portrayer of youth, has taken a girl for his principal character this time. In “Seventeen, ” “Clarence” and “Penrod’ the world revolved about certain interesting males. In “Gentle Julia” Mr. Tarkington proves that he understands the psychology of the feminine adolescent as well a s that of the masculine.

Julia’s one fault was' her gentleness. She was pretty and an.army of admirers was the bane of her life. She didn’t love any of them, but she couldn’t help being sweet to them all. It was her nature. She drifted into an engagement with one man and drifted out again, much to the happiness of Newland. Sanders, Noble Dill, George Plum and others, all desirous of winning Julia themselves

“Gentle Julia” will come to life on the screen .jn the person of piquant, winsome Bessie Love. : This clever little actress in a Tarkington story cannot fail to be a winner. William Fox will , present “Gentle Julia” at the Grand Theatre to-night and to-morrow (Thursday). The supporting programme includes an excellent Sunshine Comedy “The Bath House Tangle.”
