The annual golf -fixture between women and men was played at Middlemore during the week-end, the men scoring five wins in foursomes and the men and women five each in singles. Miss Eva Brown (Napier) and Mrs. Slack (Thames) were defeated by L. Quin (Eltham) and J. Goss (Wanganui) 3 up and 2, after receiving two strokes. 'Miss Payton (Auckland) and Mrs. Blythe (Hamilton) were defeated by T. H. Horton (Masterton) and R. D. Wright (Auckland) 5 up and 4,. receiving ..five strokes. Miss Acheson (Nelson) and Miss Snodgrass (Rotorua) were defeated by H. B. Lusk (Auckland) and R. George (Maungakiekie). Miss Jervis and Mrs. Wagg (Hutt) lost to H. W. McFarlane. and C. H. Seymour, 6 up and 5, receiving five strokes. 1 Misses Ball (Wellington) and Cooper lost to A. D. S. Duncan (Wellington) and W. B. Colbeek (Auckland), 3 up and 2, receiving five strokes. : Miss Brown beat L. Quin, 4 up and 3. * Miss Payton lost to Horton. Mrs. Blythe beat Wright, 3 up and Miss Acheson beat Lusk, 3 up and 2. Miss Snodgrass beat George, 3 up and 2. Miss Jarvis lost to Macfarlane, 3 up and 2. Mrs. Wagg lost to Seymour, 4 down and 2. Miss Bell beat Duncan, 4 up and 2. Miss Cooper lost to Kirk, 1 down. In the foursomes each side played on handicap, the women’s being decided on their par and the men’s on bogey. In the singles the women were allowed the difference in handicap, plus two strokes.
