CAR CRASH

A DANGEROUS PRACTICE. (by TELEGRAPH —PREBS ASSOCIATION.) BLENHEIM, Sept. 13. The dangerous practice of several motor cars driving closely behind each other was illustrated when a string of t‘ars in which the Marlborough Rugby football team was being conveyed to Kaikoura. struck trouble just before reaching Seddon, and as a. result of the accident one car had to be left at Seddon in a'disabled condition. Three , cars containing the footballers travelled down an incline on to the AWatere bridge, and just as they turned on to the bridge they were suddenly confronted by a motor lorry loaded Pth timber. The lorry was proceeding . towards Seddon, but the driver had stopped in order to adjust- his load.

It was impossible to pull up at such short notice and the first car crashed mto the rear of the timber carrier Ihe cars bumped behind each other as they came on to the bridge all three being involved in the collision. Nobody was seriousiy hurt. The dam age to the first ear was extensive.
