NARROW ESCAPE.

JUMP FROM WINDOW. (by TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION.) CHRISTCHURCH, Sept. 11. When a lire broke out early this morning in a two-storeyed house: in Ferry Road the owner (Mr A. E. Stevens) and his wife and two children had a narrow escape. Mr Stevens <was forced to. jump from a window on to the roof of the verandah with one of the children in his arms. They were awakened by smoke and had no time to dress.
