X T misual interest attaches to the great Basuto Pitso, or National Assembly. which was opened to-day at Maseru by the Earl of Athlone. Over 30,000 natives were present, many having ridden, for miles over the hills. •This is said to be the biggest Pitso on record in Basutoland. Under the Imperial rule no European is allowed to own laud in the country, which is also under stricter -.prohibition regulation than America.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
