Mr. E. K. Cameron, of Hawera, has received advice of the death at .Gisborne on. Saturday morning of his last surviving uncle i Mr. Robert Turnbull Camferon, aged 88 years., Mr. It. G.. Cook, chairman of the Kaponga Town Board, who has been away for some months on account of ill health, has returned to Kaponga and is resuming Iris duties as secretary of the Kaponga Dairy Company, Ltd. His many-friends will be pleased to learn that as the result of his rest his health .has greatly improved. It is with deep regret.l have to record the death of Mr Raymus Butler, of Manaia, which took place at his residence last Saturday afternoon (writes out Manaia correspondent). The late Mr Bntler was one of the oldest identities of the Waimate Plains, residing in Manaia for over w 4O years, He was held in very high esteem by all who knew him, and was a most conscientious workman. He had reached the age of 84 years. He leaves a widow, five sons, and two daughters. The funeral will take place this afternoon at the Manaia cemetery. The deepest sympathy is extended' to his widow and family from the citizens of Manaia and district in their sad bereavement.

A pleasing ceremony took place at the Eltham- Box Company’s premises on Friday, when Mr. A. H. Andrews, who has been an employee of the company for the past 16 years, was presented by the employees with a handsome Onehunga travelling rug. Mr. S. Murray, the oldest employee of the company, made the presentation, and referred to the kindly relations that had existed between Mr. Andrews and his fellow-workers. Mr. Andrews suitably responded, and said that during his sixteen years with the company he had found his fellow-workers the best type of men one could wish to meet with.
