AUCKLAND TRAGEDY.

SUICIDE WITH A GUN

“He had made a great amount of money in the early days and got through it all. I think that preyed on his mind,” said V. Williams Lorigan, a retired farmer, of Te Kuiti, giving evidence before Mr. W. R. McKean, S.M., at the inquest on the death of Arthur Charles Johnson, who was found dead with liis head shattered by a gun-shot in the Auckland Domain. A verdict of suicide while temporarily insane was returned.

Mr. Johnson will be remembered as being for a time in business in Hawera some years ago.
