SLY GROG SELLING.
DALMATIANS FINED
(by TELEGRAPH PRESS ASSOCIATION.) DARGAVILLE; Sept. 5. Two Dalmatians —Mate Galich and Ivan Erceg—boarding-house keepers, were fined £25 and costs each for keeping and selling liquor without a license. There was a large number of witnesses in support of the prosecution and the defence. Defendants alleged that the liquor: found on the premises was brought by and stored for their countrymen, and that they did not keep it for sale or gain. The Magistrate also ordered the liquor, which made a dray load altogether, to be confiscated.
