ANNUAL MEETING OF KNOX
CHURCH
The annual meeting of the congregation of Knox Church was held on Tuesday, the moderator, the Rev. J. A. Brown, presiding over a good attendance. *ev- J- A. Brown, in a brief address, thanked the members for their help since his arrival. The roll number of communicants had increased, he was pleased to say, from 55 to 75. On reviewing the year’s work, Mr Brown drew attention to the loss sustained, not only by the, Presbyterian Church but by the district as a whole, by the death of Mr R. B. Hamilton, who, he stated, was a fine type of pioneer settler, and on© whom the country could ill afford to lose. The Ladies’ Guild, he stated, were worthy of all praise for their efforts during the past year. ** The annual reports of the variouscommittees were read and adopted, each showing steady progress in the work of the church. • treasurer, Mr J. D. G. Thomson, in a brief speech, outlined the work of the church daring the past year from a financial point of view, and explained the various accounts. The thanks of the congregation were due to Mr and Mrs J McCarty for a loan, free of interest, for additions and improvements to the church and manse.
