rp , < Afl r l AVliarei’°a correspondent writes : Ihe whole community , was shocked by the news of the sudden death from heart complaint yesterday of Mrs’ Chappie, wife of our pooular factory manager (Air C. G. Cha'ppie). Airs Chappie had been ailing slightly, but no one suspected that her life hung ■ on such precarious . tenure. She expired at about- 10.30 yesterday inornand although Dr Buist- was promptly in attendance he arrived too late' to be of assistance. The deceased lady a quiet home-loving disposition, and leaves three young children to mourn her untimely demise. To her afflicted husband and to her "father (Air Arthur -Newell, of Fraser Road) and relatives the spontaneous sympathy of the whole neighbourhood will be’ ex-. tended. The deceased's parents were among the original settlers to take up land on the Fraser Road some 40 yeairs ago, and there Mr Newell still resides, his consort having passed away some two years ago.
