A deputation from the Plunket Society waited on the Premier and Minister for Health and stated that the society proposed erecting an institution in which intensive and up-to-date training would be given those desiring to become .maternity nurses, and the sum e.l £13,062 -asked lor was in the wav cti subsidies lor the various branches of the society’s work. Air Alassov spoke highly of the; work ’■l tlie society. He could not make anv definite promise, but could c,nlv say that where human life was involved it* must be a first consideration.
