SERIOUS OFFENCE

A young man, Henry J. Koskilly, appeared in the Magistrate’s Court today 'charged with committing an unnatural offence at Kurow on August 28. Accused was committed to the Supreme Court at Dunedin for sentence.

A poll of ratepayers to-day carried by a large majority loan proposals in respect of drainage, ‘ water reticulation and street improvements and machinery, the amounts aggregating £127,000.
MILK VENDOR FINED
PAHIATUA, Sept. 4
Alex Findlay, milk vendor, was fined £lO and costs for selling adulterated milk. The analyst’s report showed 12 per cent added wateir. The defence pleaded that the supply from which the inspector took samples was obtained from another farmer. ACTOR RETIRING. LONDON, Sept. 3. Cyril Maude, the actor, will retire in 1925 after a farewell visit to Amer-ica.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
