PRICE OP GOLD. BY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION-COPYRIGHT LONDON, Sept. 2. The price of gold is 92s per ounce. LONDON MARKETS. LONDON, Sept. 2. Wheat cargoes are firm at 6d to 9d higher. Parcels are in fair request at Cd advance. Por the wool sales opening oil September 16 158,000 bales have been catalogued, of which new arrivals are Australian 38,300, New Zealand 42,500, Puntas 15,000, Cape 2200. Wool held over from the July series and included in the current catalogue totalled 60,000 bales.
Tin. —Stocks 20,321 tons, including spot 2496 tons, afloat 1885 tons. Deliveries* last month totalled 1754 tons.
FARMERS’ CO-OP. ORGANISATION SOCIETY’S REPORT.
At Okaiawa, on the 2nd inst., we report a small' yarding. Fat cows made up to £6 12s, good forward cows £3 17s to £2 6s, boners and works at late rates, springing heifers up to £ll, others £7 down to £4 15s for lower conditioned, weaners (fair quality, low conditioned) £2 Bs. At Eltham on September 3 we had a heavy yarding in the dairy pens and a moderate lot of store cattle. The dairy market opened weakly and steads ilv improved.. We quote: Small line of fat hoggets, 32s 2d; good store pigs to £2, smaller to 22s 6d; f. and f. cows to £5 3s; young store cows to 455; boners, 25s to 30s; Jersey cross yearling heifers, £2 8s to £3; dairy cows, close to profit, £6 10s to £9, calved coivs, £7i 10s to £9, best quality dairy heifers, £7 to £9; others, £4 10s to £6. WAIKATO MARKET REPORT. The Farmers’ Co-op. Auctioneering Cq. , Hamilton, report: —Beef. —The market is stiff very firm with every prospect of keeping so* for at least a couple of months. Good yardings are coming forward; also good sales being made in the paddock. Prime steers and c-ows are most sought after. Mutton.—There is little change in the price of fat sheep, with the exception of extra* prime quality, which is very firm.; Store cattle.—There is a good enquiry for grown steers; also young steers, with offering. yardings consist mostly of store cows and yearling heifers, there being little demand for the latter. Store sheep.— Fair yardings have been coming forward, consisting principally of hoggets, which are finding ready sale at high prices. Daily cattle.—The yardings are easing off, dairying being in full swing, but there is still a good demand for choice cows or well-grown heifers close to profit, inferior being very dull. Pigs.—Good yardings of fats and stores are coming forward at the different markets., and are finding keen competition at high prices, stores the last week being a little easier, owing no doubt to the large numbers yarded. Horses.—Good heavy, medium and light- draughts are still in demand, but little enquiry.

"12s to 216 s (previous week 214 s to 2165); New' Zealand, unsalted 220 s salted 204 s to 208 s (206 s to 210 s); market slow'. Cheese, white 94s to 96s (94s to 965), coloured 91s to 92s (92s to 945); market slow. New Zealand first. Government grade unsalted butter nominal.
