SUPREME COURT.
PRISONERS SENTENCED.
- (by TELEGKAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION.) AUCKLAND, Sept. 3. At the Supreme Court Mr Justice Heirdman sentenced the following nrisoners: Cecil Gilbert, John Thompson, and Sydney James Foley, the former roi* theft and the latter for receiving goods to the value of £2OO stolen from the warehouse of McKay, Logan and Caldwell Co. The former was sentenced to three years and the* latter two years ar rl three, months’ imprisonment. Harold Nesbit, for unnatural offences of a revolting character, ten years’ imprisonment, his Honor remarking that men of this description were worse than the beasts of the field. In future cases he would consider whether offenders should be whipped. Charles Augustus Scandle, for breaking and entering with intent, was sentenced to three years’ concurrent, with the present sentence of reformative detention.
. George Millar, for forgery and uttering on a Post Office Savings Bank book, 12 months’ reformative detention .
