STIR IN TONGA.

PERSONNEL OF A COURT. BY CABLE—PREBB ASSOCIATION—COPYEIGHT. SUVA, Sept. 3. The appeal in the Tongan land case at Nukualofa, is proceeding. Mr Ellis, for the respondents, protested against the personnel of the court as being partial and therefore contrary to the constitution and illegal. He objected also that the queen and two other judges interested were biassed. The Chief Justice said it was a matter of conscience, and those who objected to the court decided to proceed, but Mr Ellis withdrew. Mr Crompton, for the appellant, is proceeding with the appeal.
