EVILS OF SPECULATION
BY CABLE-PRESB ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT ■ LONDON, Aug. 31. Interviewed by th© Daily Mail, Mr W. Grounds . (chairman of the Dairy Produce Control Boarn) explained that New Zealand intended to deliver butter and cheese to the British ecu si mer by mor© direct channels, thus reducing the price and eliminating speculating^ “When we came to London,” siuded Mr Grounds, “we found that the Americans had cornered large quantities of New Zealand butter, of which supplies wer© short. The sonculation, however, is not confined to Americans. It is the hoard’s businessi to stop it and ensure regular supplies of the best New Zealand produce in Britain throughout the year. We hope to eliminate distributors, who take no trouble to see that our butter is kept properly. “New Zealand cannot afford to lose her reputation through the carelessness of a few firms,” said Mr Grounds in conclusion.
