ACCOUNTANTS.
MEETING OF SOCIETY. (by TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION.) WELLINGTON,, Aug. 28. . The half-yearly meeting of the conncil of the New Zealand Society of Accountants was concluded to-day. Mr. W. E. Best (Christchurch) was elected president for th© forthcoming year, Mr E. J. Harvey (MarlboroughWestland) vice-president, and Mr. J. L. Griffen . (Wellington) honorary treasurer. Various committees of the council for the new year were also elected. Grants were passed to various branch societies, and consideration was given to the question of further grants to university colleges. Arrangements were made in. connection with the accountants . convention to be held in ton in February next. Lengthy consideration was also given 'to the question of providing-- instruction for students in country districts, and it was resolved that country members of the council individually or as a committee should report to the education committee of the council not later than November 30 next, with a view to a full report, and suggested a scheme of tuition lof country students being formulated by the education committee tor submission to the council in February next.
