TE KIRI.
(From Our Own Correspondent,)
The lovely days we are now getting are very welcome after the cold, wet ones we have had nearly all this month. flic local factory is running every day now, but apparently it is still making blitter, so the few c-alves being kept should get a good start on the skim milk.
I believe the Lancashire and York--hire Society of Awatuna have consented to give an entertainment in aid of the Te Kiri Hall funds at Te Kiri on Friday. Their programme was very much appreciated at Awatuna last week, so there should be a good jiouse here. It is a long time since we had a conceit with outside talent, but the old saying, “It never rains but it pours” seems to be coming true, as the Scotch Association are holding a big rally on the following week, as advertised. The bagpipes will be much in evidence and dancers are coming from Opunake as well as vocalists.
