A congratulatory message from the King was read and the reply thereto adopted. - INTERNATIONAL CONTROL. BERNE, Aug. 26. The dosing session of the interparliamentary Congress agreed to the principle that the open door should be extended to all colonies, that the traffic in arms and ammunition to the colonies should be controlled by the League of Nations, and that the drug traffic should be controlled by an international organisation. The congress next year meets in Washington on the invitation of President Coolidge. RAIN IMPROVES PROSPECTS. . SYDNEY, Aug.. 26. Splendid rain fell over the greater part of the'State, accompanied by warmer conditions. The crop prospects are excellent and a good harvest is considered assured.
