CLAIMS BY LEVIN
(BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION.) T . . LEVIN, Aug. 25. At .Levin to-day a deputation representing agricultural and commercial interests urged on the Prime Minister the advantages of the central development farm here as the site of the proposed agricultural college. The farm consists of eight hundred acres, with tile necessary buildings, and is at present used by the Agricultural Department for experimental purposes. The advantages claimed were its central position the climate, and the quality of the land.
Mr. Massey, m reply/admitted the necessity for an agricultural college, but be said the Government had not yet decided where it should be located. be decision lav with the Minister for Education and the Minister for Lauds, who would probably make a recommendation in the near future. The Government did not need to go outside its own property, having farms at Levin ? n as a s those given Perry at Masterton and Mr Howard in Hawke’s Bay. He could npt say which of these would be decided upon, but the matter would receive early consideration.
