A CHALLENGE.
INVENTOR’S QUEER OFFER. LONDON, Aug. 11. A London resident wants to fight Admiral Earl Beattv, the First Sea Lord, for £IOO,OOO. He claimed this amount from the Admiralty for war inventions. ’ The Admiralty rejected the claim, and the Aii-entor has now written to Admiral ioeattv offering to meet him in the ring at the National Sporting Club in a 10round contest, with 4oz gloves.
The inventor ’s conditions are that if he wins the Admiralty will pay the £IOO,OOO, and that, if Admiral Beatty wins the claim will be dropped. The challenger is 73 years of age, weighs list, and is living- oil a pension of 15s a week.
