CITY RATES.
INOREASED TN CHRISTCHURCH. (BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION.) GHRISTCHURH, Aug. 21. The City Council has decided to strike a general rate of 3 3-Sd in the £ for the next financial year instead of 3 l-Bd. It is estimated that the new rate will bring in £IIO,OOO additional, but there will still be a deficiency in the revenue account. The Mayor stated that the increase wa« inevitable.
