LEFT THE RAILS.
TRAM ACCIDENT. (by TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION.) AUCKLAND, Aug. 19. A sensational tram accident occurred this evening in Freeman’s Bay. A car and trailer was proceeding to the city from Ponsonby, when the trailer left the rails and struck a centre pole. Practically half of one side of the trailer was torn off. Fortunately there were no passengers on board. The conductor escaped.
