NEW YORK, Aug.. 16. “Anchored fifteen miles off Fire Island,” says an article in the Tribune, “is a 17,000-ton liner flying the British Hag and converted into a palatial floating cabaret, where any kind of drink is obtainable. The silverware and linen on board are stamped with tlie name of the former German liner Friederich-der-grosse, but tl\e vessel’s name has been painted out. ' “The liner is the scene nightly of parties given by wealthy patrons, speed boats and yachts plying between the liner and the shore. The vessel frequently shifts her position, and only those known to the. captain know where she can he found at all times. Winesells at £4 a quart.”
